Dr. O. John Ma currently serves as Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Florida State University College of Medicine. Between 2007-19, he served as Professor and Chair of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also held the position of President of the Professional Staff for OHSU Healthcare between 2011-13. Dr. Ma has edited 20 reference textbooks that have been published in over 10 languages, which include Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide and Ma and Mateer’s Emergency Ultrasound. He has served on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is the recipient of six Teacher-of-the-Year awards. In 2024, Dr. Ma was presented the Emergency Medicine Gold Medal by the Emergency Physicians Association of Turkey for a Career Achievement Award in Advancing Emergency Medicine.
Prof Fatimah Lateef is the first Emergency Physician-Politician/ Member of Parliament in Singapore. She served as an elected Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2006 till 2020, participating in three General Elections. She is Senior Consultant, Director of Undergraduate Training and Education as well as Director of Clinical Service and Quality at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Singapore General Hospital. She is also Adjunct Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Yong Loo Lin Medical School, National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian Medical School at NTU. She teaches part-time at the School of Health Sciences, Nanyang Polytechnic. Her area of sub-specialisation include Prehospital Care Medicine, Cardiovascular and Neurovascular Emergencies. She is passionate about Medical Education, Leadership training, International Humanitarian Medicine and Simulation/ Technology-driven Education. She has worked in various countries including both the UK and USA and served as an International Consultant to MaxHealthcare, India.
Fatimah is the Director of the SingHealth Duke NUS Institute of Medical Simulation, where she is also an active educator and facilitator. With the first three years of formation, she brought the centre through into the global arena with the achievement of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) accreditation. Her strong servant leadership style as well as transformative model for negotiating change and uplifting and enhancing lives, people and organisations, ensures the values she holds close to her heart are executed.
A strong advocate of life long learning and empowerment, she has presented more than 500 abstracts at international conferences and published over 300 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. She is on several editorial board and a reviewer for some 30 peer-reviewed journals She leads various leadership groups, grooming youths and doctors to excel, which is also befitting her role as a core faculty, nurturing residents in Emergency Medicine. Fatimah is an active volunteer in the area of International Humanitarian Medicine and Acute Disaster Response, where she has led teams to countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Myammar, Africa, Indonesia, China for a variety of causes and assistance. For her work in the various fields, she has been conferred awards such as Young Investigator’s Award (1998), Excellent Scientific Publication Award (2001), Best Teacher Award (2002), Laerdal Visiting Lectureship Award (2003), Courage Award (2004), National Healthcare Humanity Award (2005), The Outstanding Young Person of Singapore (2006), Good Mentor Award, Singhealth (2005), The Outstanding Young Person of the World Award (2006), Woman for Peace Award, Sokka Gakkai International, (2007), Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, NUS (2008), Singapore Medical Journal Recognition Award for Review with Distinction, (2007-2016), Critical Talent Retention Award, SingHealth and The Academy of Medicine, Gold Reviewer Award( 2011), Excellent Educator Award 2015, National Day Long Service Award, 2017, Academic Medicine Award for her work in global emergency medicine (2019), amongst others. More recently, she has received The Golden Apple Award (2021), Inspiring Mentor Award (2021), The Golden Quill Award (2021), Best Education Research Award (2022) and The Covid 19 National Day Award (2023).
Fatimah continues to work full time, with a fulfilling career in Emergency Medicine, balancing clinical work with research and education, as well as her local and international community responsibilities. For recreation, Fatimah enjoys mountain climbing, cooking, reading and she has completed 15 full marathons.
Dr. Saravana Kumar completed his Emergency Medicine Training from India.
He is the current group unit Head of Dr Mehta’s Hospitals Chennai and leads Quality and patient safety across the organization and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Dr Mehta’s Hospitals, Chennai.
Dr. Saravanakumar is currently the National President of Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI).
He was instrumental in designing and bringing EM quality training program, Disaster life support program, National Cardiac life support training program, Law and Emergency medicine. Leadership in Emergency Medicine training program for emergency medicine specialist in India and Implemented a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine certification course under SEMI in 2009 for which he was awarded as “Pioneer in SEMI academics”.
He is also the editor in chief of health QUEST - first of its kind EM safety guidelines for India drafted from quality best practices of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
He continues to work towards improving governance and quality and patient safety in EM and was awarded “Young Quality Achiever 2018” award by Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations, India in 2018 for his work towards patient safety and quality Improvement.
He is the current chair of International Federation of Emergency Medicine Special Interest Groups for Quality and patient safety and is working towards a global standards for emergency medicine departments to achieve excellence.

Dr Ffion Davies is a Consultant Emergency Physician at the University Hospitals of Leicester, UK, and Honorary Senior Lecturer, University of Leicester. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.
Ffion has a passion for inter-professional education and is sub-specialist trained in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. Her career has combined these two areas and has been dedicated to improving care in emergency departments through education, in particular the care of children.
For over 20 years Ffion has acted as advisor to various government or other national strategies and acted in multiple leadership roles in the UK. She is the Medical Lead for The Children’s Air Ambulance charity, a national PICU/NICU helicopter retrieval and ECMO service.
Within IFEM Ffion founded and Chaired the IFEM Paediatric EM Special Interest Group 2011, was Chair of the Clinical Practice Committee 2018-2020, then served as President Elect 2020-2022 working on projects such as online education, induction, inclusion, diversity, mentorship and a governance review for the organization.
Ffion will continue IFEM’s work as a body connecting and helping those working in emergency care, one which promotes the development of a trained workforce who are skilled in providing emergency patient care and are also present at the table of discussions of emergency care pathways at all levels, local to global.

Dr. Tintinalli is a professor and founding chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She was president of the American Board of Emergency Medicine (1989-1990), the founding president of the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors, and past-president of the Association of Academic Chairs of Emergency Medicine (2006-2007). . She is editor in chief of Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine and AccessEmergencyMedicine (McGraw Hill Education).
She was elected to the National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Medicine in 1997. She was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in April, 2017, by the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. In October 2018 the American College of Emergency Physicians named one of the society’s key leadership awards the Judith E. Tintinalli Award for Outstanding Contribution in Education. In 2019 she was named ‘Fellow of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine’, FIFEM.
Dr. Lisa Moreno is Past President of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, Professor of Medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Professor of Surgery at Tulane University, former Associate Dean for Diversity at Brody School of Medicine, and newly hired Vice Chair and Professor with Tenure, Department of Emergency Medicine, University of South Alabama. Her multiple awards include the SAEM Marcus Martin Leadership Award, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Professionalism Award, CORD Distinguished Educator Award, ADIEM Outstanding Academician Award, AAMC Healthcare Executive Diversity & Inclusion Certificate, Order of the IFEM and WACEM Leader of the Year. She is an NIH PRIDE research scholar and the recipient of numerous research grants. Dr. Moreno has over 600 academic presentations, 120 publications, 10 book chapters, and 2 authored textbooks. Her research focuses on health equity, violence prevention and treatment, and viral diseases. A global health consultant and educator, she has mentored over 400 learners and served in over 30 countries, focusing on the development of research and elimination of healthcare disparities for women, underrepresented, and under-resourced groups.

Lina Jankauskaite, MD, PhD is professor, principal investigator, and educator at the Lithuanian university of health sciences (LSMU) and a pediatric emergency physician at LSMU HospitalKauno Klinikos. Since 2022 January she started running a chief position in the rare and undiagnosed disease coordination center of LSMU KK. Lina is an active member of the European Academy of pediatrics, EUSEM (European Society of Emergency Medicine, Pediatric branch), and REPEM (research in pediatric emergency medicine). Since 2023 November she is a EUSEM Pediatric branch representative at IFEM (International federation of emergency medicine). She is highly interested in evidence-based clinical medicine, translational science, new diagnostic methods, including non-non invasive diagnostic methods in pediatrics, innovations, digital health, big data, acute viral diseases and pain medicine.
Jim is a Consultant working in one of the UK’s busiest Major Trauma Centres and Emergency Departments in the North of England.
He is the current president of the European Society of Emergency Medicine (EUSEM). He was past chair of the EuSEM Ultrasound Section and RCEM Ultrasound group.
He has developed innovative educational courses and is a convenor of the Royal College Surgeons prehospital Emergency Resuscitative Thoracotomy course.
He was amongst the first ED Physicians in the UK to adopt Point of Care Ultrasound running his first course in 2001 and has directed and taught on over 50 International Courses and currently directs EuSEM and UK RCEM US Courses.

Dr. Michael Alfertshofer, one of the leading young scientists globally, completed his medical studies a year ago and is currently pursuing both a degree in dentistry and a residency in maxillofacial surgery at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. His prolific scientific contributions include nearly 100 publications, along with significant roles as an editorial board member and reviewer for high-impact journals, as well as numerous presentations at prestigious international conferences.
His research focuses on facial anatomy, plastic surgery, oromaxillofacial surgery, and the integration of artificial intelligence in these fields. Dr. Ezzat Samy Aziz is currently serving as a Professor of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University Hospital. After completing his undergraduate degree at Cairo University, he was appointed as Anaesthetic Resident at Cairo University Hospitals where he gained extensive experience in various anesthetics sub-specialties.
He conducted his PhD thesis in University of Amsterdam, focusing on neonatal intensive care, which resulted in the attainment of his MD degree. His international experience involved working in different hospitals in the Republic of Ireland and the UK, where he gained exposure to European healthcare practices and successfully passed the Royal College of Anaesthetists fellowship examination in Ireland and the UK. In 2002, he was appointed as Professor of Anesthesia, a position that afforded him nearly four months of leave annually. This opportunity enabled him to establish himself as a Visiting Consultant Anaesthetist in Chesterfield, UK, a role he dedicated himself to for 20 years.
He actively engaged in teaching and research, participating in numerous research projects. His expertise was recognized as he was appointed as an examiner for Master and MD degrees in Anaesthesia at Cairo University, as well as for the fellowship exam in Dublin, Ireland. He further extended his reach as an external examiner in various countries around the world.
Professionally, he founded the African Society of Regional Anaesthesia (AFSRA) in 2011 and currently serves as its president. AFSRA spreads knowledge of regional anesthesia across Africa through annual meetings and workshops. Dr. Aziz has also held leadership roles in international anesthesia congresses and joined the committee of Professional Well Being for the WFSA in 2016.
In his free time, Dr. Aziz indulges in collecting vintage watches and enjoys leisurely activities such as traveling and swimming.

Within his Work Experience
He has been an Assigned Physician in the Emergency Services at the Mexican
Social Security Institute, since March 1989 and in the Medical Services of the
Department of the Federal District, today the Secretary of Health of Mexico
City. He served as Deputy Medical Director at the Maternal and Child Hospital
of Cuajimalpa SMDDF,
He was Head of Service and Professor of the Specialty in Emergency Medicine
at the Mexican Social Security Institute. In the private sector he worked in
several Hospitals in Mexico City. He was the First Medical Director of the
“Ameri-Med Ambulatory Care & Hospitals” Project in Puerto Vallarta, and he
was the one who brought the original project to Mexico.

He is the Creator and Director of the “Emergency Course Mexico” (1997
present) which has been taught in different parts of the country and abroad. It
consists of 20 curricular hours with topics related to Cardiovascular
Emergencies and Trauma.
He has taught Basic and Advanced Cardio Cerebro Pulmonary Resuscitation
courses for Doctors, Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians and the General
Public, in Public and Private Schools of the Country since 1986 - to date. He
was the one who brought the first CPR course by the American Heart
Association in 1989.
He was also the one who taught for the first time together with fellow
physicians in Mexico within the Mexican Society of Emergency Medicine the
ACLS and ATLS courses.
He has given various conferences on Emergency Medicine and Trauma in
Mexico, and in more than 35 countries.
